Is anyone else really disgusted at this blatent classism? (I am referring to the free meals at the Dining Halls this week for FACULTY only.)
I guess this means one of three things:
a. We staff members don't eat lunch
b. We have so much disposable income that we don't need a free lunch.
c. Faculty are so deprived and are some of the lowest income members of this community; they need a break.
d. We are invisible

I'd love to do some kind of creative response to this, publically. Any thoughts?

I agree Jane that we should bring this to someone's attention - Chancellor perhaps? I remember one year the Faculty Club gave all of us (in CMPSCI) a free lunch for our birthday, including Faculty & Staff. The staff chose to make one day of it and celebrate everyone's birthday at once. I was a nice though and appreciated by all of us.

I would cc whatever you send to Ken Toong's to the chancellor's office too.

How unfair.... I was getting ready to go grab my free lunch when my bubble was bursted. Faculty get free meals this week but for Administrative Professionals Week, we got nothing (from the university). That would of been a good time to offer free meals to Staff. We make less money than Faculty and we have to pay for our meals. That just shows who they really care about here on campus.

Yes, what they say is they want to thank faculty for all their hard work, what about all the hard work we do for our students!!
